Department of Main Roads are investing $13.3 billion over the next five years on road and transport infrastructure that will connect our future, while simultaneously managing the State’s largest asset – some 34,000 km of road network valued at over $35 billion.
As a result we are seeking to appoint a Senior Surveyor (Capability) to be based within our Geospatial Technologies division at Spring Hill, Brisbane.
You will be responsible for:
- Project managing the delivery of engineering surveying, photogrammetry, remote sensing and geospatial information acquisition projects
- Providing authoritative advice on geospatial information acquisitions
- Developing and maintaining the Main Roads’ Engineering Surveying Standards and Specifications
- Initiating, managing and independently undertaking leading edge applied research projects to improve the technical capability of Main Roads
You will also use your skills and knowledge to mentor other surveyors. This is a strategic role with the majority of your time (approx 80%) being based in the office.
Qualifications:
Possess as a minimum a 3 year degree in Surveying from a recognised tertiary institution, or qualifications which in the opinion of the Director-General are equivalent, is mandatory.
Registration as a Surveyor with the Surveyors Board of Queensland (SBQ) or Specialist Certification with the Spatial Sciences Institute is mandatory
The remuneration package for this role ranges from $79,300– $85,000 plus a 2 year loading of between $19,800 – $21,200 which is reviewable at the end of the period. Main Roads also provides excellent benefits including flexible work hours and salary packaging options.
